Maxy House Farm on Sandy Lane.
Several weeks ago, an article appeared in the Lancashire Evening Post relating to a local farmers plans to devote much of his 60 acres of land for the benefit of wildlife. One of the principal driving forces behind this is the fact that for a number of years Lapwings have nested in one of his fields. Lapwings are a species for which there is considerable conservation concern.

Having read the article, if you decide you would be interested in getting involved in some way, or would like to be kept informed of developments, please register your interest with me.

Obviously, at the moment there is little that can be done in practical terms, but we can make plans for the rest of the year.

The site is at Maxy House Livery Stables on Sandy Lane, Cottam.
